|» Job description:||This is aprivately owned Practice which has been providing health care to the Franklin community for the last 70 years. |
The Practice now has 14 doctors supported by a large multidisciplinary team. Total staff approx. 80- equalling 67 FTE. We also have a satellite clinic at Newsham Park, about 5mins from our main base.
We are a ProCare practice and hold current Cornerstone Accreditation.
- Flexible number of sessions - 30 hours per week min. to cover visa requirements
- Start date February 2018
- 12 month contract minimum
- 3-4 patients per hour
- One evening per week until 7pm
- One sat every 4 weeks
Practice population is 18,772 comprising:

Doctor services supported by multiple nurse led clinics including:
- Women's Health
- Family Planning clinic
- Ear Health
- Wellness Programme for chronic illness
- Youth clinic
We also provide Pre-employment services, medicals, minor procedures and provide Medical Services to all Franklin Rest Homes/ Hospitals, provide medical services to Pukekohe Hospital. We have multiple private Specialists available for our patients onsite.
We are part of the DHB Enhanced General Practice project however have been introducing Health Care Home (HCH) concepts since 2010. We have a multidisciplinary team including Doctors / Nurses / Health Care Assistants and a large Support Team.
HCH functions involve providing:
- Comprehensive Care: prevention, wellness, acute and chronic care
- Person centred care
- Coordinated care
- Accessible services
Quality and Safety are underlining philosophies guided by a multidisciplinary Quality team.
We have a weekly CME programme and monthly peer review with the ProCare cell group meetings. We have monthly skin case review with our resident Plastic Surgeon and a 2 monthly Geriatrician case review.
We are a teaching Practice and have 2 Doctors who teach with the GP training scheme. We actively encourage staff development
The General Practice is supported by on-site X-ray, pharmacy, diagnostic laboratory and physiotherapy facilities - all independent businesses.

To be eligible for the position you need to hold 33 months comparable general practice experience from one of the following countries.
This can be spread over 48 months with gaps as long as it totals 33 months within that timeframe.
You also should have worked for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
